Lincolnshire's most natural and challenging trout fishing set in an exclusive and beautiful part of the Wolds - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The setting is like no other in Lincolnshire and compares with any of the well known 'outdoor areas'. The 6 acre lake is spring fed with a gravity fed fountain at the centre. It is stocked regularly with rainbow and brown trout, and fishing is by fly only.
The lake will be closed this coming Saturday, 15th June. It will also be closed on Friday 28th June. As things stand we anticipate no further closures.
It has been good to see quite a number of ‘new’ fishermen and pleasing that all seem to have enjoyed their first visit to Otby.
Just a quick reminder to put your name in the Fishing Record Book on arrival (as well as entering catches on departure!) – this helps us keep an eye on things.
Numbers caught are now slipping back a little and 50 to 100 fish will be introduced as soon as possible.
Otherwise things seem to be running smoothly and weed treatment appears to have been very successful; it will be interesting to observe how much regrowth there is during the summer. Further treatments will be given as necessary.
With best wishes from Otby
